We’re delighted to share the exciting news that the grey partridge, the charming bird believed to have inspired the famous “partridge in a pear tree”, has been spotted happily living among our Christmas tree plantations.
With its distinctive orange face, the grey partridge sits on the Birds of Conservation Concern (BoCC) Red List as an endangered species. Yet there are hopeful signs: this much loved Christmas favourite is slowly rebuilding its numbers and our tree growing fields are providing the perfect habitat, rich with the insects that young birds rely on to thrive.
